Setting a Trap for Riptchokal

BACKGROUND
==============

Lonely construction worker Boris Heminski feels that there is something really off about his employers.  In fact, he begins to sense a...demonic...sort of presence.  Struggling with questions of faith and depressed over his usual daily drudgery, he finds a cause worth fighting for when he begins connecting the dots. 

Consulting some findings he steals from work with an archeologist, he learns that his employers are working with a science firm as a front for a vicious conspiracy to usher in Armageddon prematurely - by helping the demon Rickrod regain his old staff, with which he intends to spread chaos throughout the globe and magnify the powers of other demons so they may form manifestations more easily.

This immediately leads to Boris being chased across Romania.  He would need a guardian angel to come and protect him from the Manifests that were Hell-bent on finding him.  He got one.  Though...not the one he expected.

Enter Cherinob.  Formerly the Guardian and Defender of Natural Order known as Velithia, a battle with Kritchobol left her too injured to remain in Heaven, yet too mode-locked into holiness to be sent to Hell.  The broken-but-not-fallen angel was promised that she'd be restored one day.  In the mean time, she was given a manifestation of her own, and forced to walk the Earth for millennia slaying demons wherever she could.  She was named "Cherinob," or "she who makes the grass black."  She was incarnate...as the Angel of Radioactive Death and Destruction.

Unable to manifest her angelic armor for more than an hour at a time in-between day-long charges, Cherinob had to grow adept at maintaining her mesh to avoid poisoning with her radiation the very humanity she sought to protect.  Yet, maintaining the mesh too long meant agony, as she had to drain her buildup of radioactive energy regularly.  One meltdown could render a continent uninhabitable!!!

She'd spent centuries punishing the beings that tried to drag her to Hell.  But now, she had to save Boris from them.  She was assigned to him.  She would need him to overcome Kritchobol's return.  And he would need her for safety.

IN THIS SCENE

In spite the fact that it limits their mobility, demons prefer to be Manifests.  To look like anyone human.  Which gives them much more ability to influence actual humans without giving themselves away.  Kritchobol has ordered several Manifests to capture Boris and reveal to his employers what he knows about their correspondence with Kritchobol.  However, their arrival at the apartment building does not go unnoticed.  Riptchokal and his minions are soon met with resistance.

Cherinob and a few other angels are already there, waiting for the Manifests.  In spite the excitement, Cherinob must keep her radiation at bay as she prepares to fight.  She cannot summon her armor just yet, which allows her to hold her radiation in without pain while still disposing of enemies.  She must fight proficiently with what little she has.  And opening up portals to the Chasm Tubes to send her enemies back to from whence they came is something her allies do well.  All she has to do is lure the enemies right into a trap.  She is slightly concerned about the noise she will have to make to battle in an apartment hallway.
